Before erecting a new memorial or adding a new inscription to an existing memorial, a memorial permit form must be submitted to the relevant Church, Council or Chapel Authority. We will guide you through the entire process.
Church in Wales, Council Authorities and Chapel Cemeteries have individual rules about the type of memorial, material, inscription or size allowed. We will provide you with the correct permit form for your cemetery/churchyard, which must be signed by the registered grave owner.
You may need to wait at least 6 months from burial before a new memorial can be placed, allowing the ground to settle. We advise waiting at least 3 months before re-fixing an existing memorial. Memorial work cannot begin until the permit has been approved.
